28th Sunday (Old Rite: XIX Sunday after Pentecost)

Changes to Masses this week:
Tuesday 17th - No 9am Mass.  9.30am Mass at St Bernadette School

Month of the Holy Rosary: The Rosary is one of the simplest prayers to say. One can say it anytime and anywhere. It may be easy to say but it has a huge depth. Often it is difficult for us to concentrate but let us try to say it with love. With the five decades we can have five different intentions. Every Sunday in October we have Devotions, Sermon & Benediction at 5pm and the Rosary is also usually recited after every 9am weekday Mass.

Bazaar - Friday 1st & Saturday 2nd December: Don’t forget to put the date in your diaries. Each year we set ourselves the challenge to raise the money needed for our annual payment to the Diocese, and we need YOUR help & support.

  • Draw Tickets have arrived – picked yours up to day.  Don’t forget to return the counterfoils and money as soon as possible!!
  • Donations of Good quality items please - fancy goods; religious articles; drinks for the Bottle stall & raffle prizes; homemade crafts, jams & chutneys. (Empty jam jars – clean & with lids - and sugar will also be gratefully accepted!!)
  • Please do not bring in electrical items, videos, books or clothes.  (If you have any clothes to donate – see ‘Mary’s Meals Appeal’ in below.
  • Friday night only! Last year we trialled the bazaar on the Friday night only and it worked so we will do the same this year. On the Saturday we will have the Christmas dinner.
  • Volunteers wanted: If you would like to help with the Bazaar, please speak to Harman Ross.

Appeal by Mary's Meals – Sunday 29th October: Mary’s Meals will be coming to our church in a couple of weeks’ time to take away your unwanted clothing and bedding (no duvets or pillows please).  Over the next few weeks, please collect your unwanted clothes and put them in tied sacks.  Then before 11am on Sunday 29th October, bring them with you when you come to Mass.  Not only will you be getting rid of un-wanted clothes/bedding and giving yourself a little more space but you will also benefit a really worthwhile charity.  Mary’s Meals feeds children one good meal every day at school in 14 countries.  Because of our low costs we can do this for as little as £13.90 per child per year!

40 Days for Life: Wednesday 27th September – Sunday 5th November.  Daily vigils 7am to 7pm outside BPAS Leigham Court Road, Streatham.  Estefania Alvarez, 07752 278682 estefaniatotustuus@gmail.com
