32nd Sunday OT - Remembrance Sunday (Old Rite: XXIII Sunday after Pentecost)

Annual Blessing of the Graves - Today: at Streatham Park Cemetery, Rowan Rd. Please arrive by 2.45pm and come prepared for wet weather and slippery conditions underfoot. Darkness falls quickly at this time of year and the cemetery closes at 4pm so the blessings may have to be short.

Bazaar - Friday 1st & Saturday 2nd December: We need you to pull out all the stops to help make our annual bazaar a great success.  Our Diocesan Donation for 2017 is over £20,000 so every penny counts!
  • Draw Tickets: are available, please take some home; sell them to friends & family, then return the stubs & money – in a sealed envelope ASAP.  Any unsold tickets can be returned to us too so we can sell during the Bazaar itself
  • Donations Needed – Good Quality Items only:  Good-as-new, jewellery, fancy goods, religious articles, your homemade crafts & jams. No books, electrical or clothes items. Only bring in items which are new/almost new please!
  • Bottle Stall: Please bring in bottles of wine, spirits and soft drinks. This wonderful stall is always popular and helps the atmosphere and the takings of the bazaar on the whole.
  • Cakes & Heavies: the lists await you!!
  • Dinner Bookings: We are now taking bookings for the dinner held on Saturday evening – £25 per person. See one of the priests today!
  • Bistro Order Forms: are available from this weekend. Forms to be returned with money by Wed 29 Nov
  • Monetary Donations:  if you would rather make a cash donation – these are grateful received too! 
  • Next Meeting: Tuesday 14th November at 7.30pm.  Everyone welcome

Special Sunday - 11am Mass: The music will be: Ordinary: Missa pro defunctis (Giovanni Francesco Anerio) & Communion: Versa est in luctum (Jose de Torres y Martinez Bravo) and is provided by Cantores Missae under the direction of Mr Charles Finch.  As it is Remembrance Sunday, this Mass is offered for all those who gave their lives in WW1 and WW2 and subsequent conflicts. At this Mass we will also remember those who have died in our parish over the past year.

St Bede's Parish Census & Evangelisation Questionnaire: If you pick up a form last week, please return ASAP.
African & Caribbean Meeting: after the 9.30 Mass today to discuss the plans for the upcoming bazaar.   

Confirmation Application Forms: are being distributed now at the youth club. You must be in Yr 8 or above

Youth Club – Sundays 4.30-6pm: (please note the change of time for the winter!)  The Youth Club is for anyone aged 10-15 years. 

Altar Servers Meetings: Fr Przemek is organising meetings  for our Altars Servers.  We have decided to split the groups into Juniors (those in Primary school) and Seniors (those already in Secondary School or adults).  The meetings will take place 10am - 12noon

APF Red Boxes: Please return your box to one of the priests no later than 19th November (next Sunday)

Good Counsel Blue boxes: It has been a while since these have been counted too.  If you have a full one, please bring it in and we will count it for you and send the money off to Good Counsel.  If you would like your box back, please put a note with your name and attach to the box.

Christmas Concert - St Simon & St Jude's Church: on Sunday 19th November at 3pm in aid of Help 4 Refugee Children.  Tickets available from parish office (8678 9051 or cost £8, children 16 or under free.  There will be refreshments in the church hall afterwards.  See poster for more information. 

Christmas Bazaar at St Simon & St Jude's: Sunday 26th Nov 12.30-2.30pm.  Entrance £1 for adults and children free.  See poster at the back of Church for details.

Cleaners this week: Ellen Asafu-Agyei, Adiam Berhane, Pauline Ajuga & Franca Otuo.  Thank you to everyone who volunteered recently to become a church cleaner.  The rota for November / December has been adjusted to accommodate you into current groups or to form new groups, and these have now been posted out to home addresses.

Part Time Gardener Assistant/Caretaker/Minibus Driver (The Laurels): The school is looking to recruit a person who is happy to carry out gardening duties, some caretaking duties and occasional mini-bus driving duties to cover the Clapham, Balham and Central London areas on a split shift basis covering morning & afternoon school runs. The Evangelisation & The Old Mass?: The Guild of Our Lady & Saint Joseph invite you to join them as we deepen our understanding of the riches of our liturgical heritage and its relevance today. Father Uwe Michael Lang, a priest of the Oratory of St. Philip Neri to help us explore the inexhaustible mystery of the Eucharist.
