Thank You for the Bazaar: A huge effort has been made by so many of you. Thank you to Harman Ross who co-ordinates the whole process & all the people who have sorted through the donations, run stalls, provided food for the Bistro and cakes for the stalls.  Thanks also to Stefano Taliana and team for the Christmas Dinner last night; St Bede’s school for the use of the hall on Friday and Saturday; St Bernadette’s staff & pupils for your continued support each year & La Retraite for their kitchen. Thank you to the Portuguese ladies who, despite illness valiantly ran the Bistro.  Finally thanks to Thanks behind the scenes, who washed up, sold/bought tickets, setup & cleared up & supported us generously.

Grand Draw today: One of the largest components of the Bazaar profit comes from the Grand Draw. At 1pm today in the club we will meet to discover who the lucky winners are! Hope it’s you!

Parish Council Meeting: tomorrow at 7.30pm.  If you have anything to discuss, please put in in writing and give to one of the priests today.

Advent: You and I live in time and space. When we die our souls move into an eternal dimension. Our Blessed Lord quotes the Old Testament and says “Eye has not seen nor ear heard nor has it entered into the heart of man the glories the Lord has prepared for those who love him.” We are all like babes in the womb with no understanding of eternity. However Advent is a season which Mother Church uses to remind us, her children, to make the most of the time we have. The Saints, especially Francis of Assisi have exulted in the marvellous beauty of creation – the space in which we now live. Advent warns us to use our hearts to perceive the graces which come to us in time. 2017 years ago our Lord was born; some time in the future he will come again. This month open your heart and perceive his Advent in all the circumstances of our lives!

Message from Archbishop Peter: Do you support Catholic schools and the right of Catholics to send their children to them?  Then we need you to make your voice heard.  The Government is making a critical decision on whether to overturn the admissions cap which prevents Catholic schools from allowing all Catholic pupils to attend.  They have acknowledged that this policy discrimates against Catholics and promised to abandon it, now we need you to tell them not to u-turn on their promise to Catholics.  Visit or search for ‘Catholic Education’ in your search engine to write to the Government and urge them to drop their policy which bans new Catholic schools.
