Half Term trips planned

Monday 12th - Confirmation Day out: We will visit Tyburn Convent, Westminster Cathedral, Imperial War Museum and hopefully Mother Teresa’s Sisters in Southwark.  Meet at Clapham South by 9.15am.  This is an obligation beginning of our Confirmation programme and you need to bring packed lunch, your oyster/zip card and money for McDonalds in the evening.  

Tuesday 13th – Altar Servers Day Out: We will have a day out for all our Altar Servers.  So don’t forget to speak to the priests this weekend to put your name down.  Meet at St Bede’s Church at 9.30am. Bring a football too.  

Billy Connaughton RIP: His Requiem Mass will take place at St Mary’s in Clapham Common on Monday 12th February at 12.30pm followed by burial 2.15pm at Lambeth Cemetery, Blackshaw Road and the wake will be held at the Central Golf Centre in Burntwood Lane.  

Jerry Hourigan RIP (Former Caretaker of St Bernadette and La Retraite Schools): His Requiem Mass will take place here at St Bede’s on Friday 16th February at 11.30am.    

Tea Towels for Sale - Fundraising for St Bede's School:  Sharon Murphy will be selling special tea towels designed by the children of St Bede's after the 9.30 Mass today.  They are £4 for 1 tea towel or 3 for £10.  Always handy to have in home & support your local school at the same time!

Calling all Pensioners!  Come along for a light lunch and game of Bingo every Tuesday 12-3pm at Corpus Christie Church hall, 11 Trent Rd, Brixton, London SW2 5BJ. All welcome!

Helpers of God's Precious Infants – Brixton Vigil: The next Rosary Procession Vigil, led by Fr Jacob Hausman CFR, will be held on Saturday 10th February 2018, at Our Lady of The Rosary Church, 6 Knowle Close, Brixton SW9.   The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will begin at 10a.m. after which we will begin our Rosary Procession, following an Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe, to Marie Stopes Brixton Centre l, where we shall pray 15 decades of the Rosary and sing hymns. Help Requested: After a year & half in temporary accommodation, I will be moving into permanent council housing soon, and would be very grateful for donations of any spare household goods, or suggestions as to where I can acquire them cheaply, as I am not working at the moment. Particularly the following items: 

  • Carpets & underlay for 2 large rooms & 1 small hallway
  • Tumble dryer
  • Dining room table & 4 chairs
  • Sofa, 
  • Kitchen utensils,
  • Towels.

St Mary Soledad Group: We are starting a group (Mary Soledad) made up of young girls and boys between the ages of 10-18 years.  It will take place at the Handmaids of Mary Convent, every 1st Saturday of the month from 1pm to 4pm.  See poster for more details.
